Project Engineer

Based in Jessup, MD, United States, the experienced Project Engineer will be able to carry out engineering-related operations and manage projects, meeting company and industry standards. 

The Project Engineer is expected to:

  • Review project shop drawings
  • Be point of contact for clients for the assigned projects
  • Follow and apply quality assurance procedures
  • Organise, prepare and coordinate technical documents
  • Provide drawings for internal designs and produce sketches for incorporation in drawings by detailers
  • Assess external designs to shop drawing requirements
  • Understand various project requirements and prepare requests for information (RFI)
  • Provide post-tensioning calculations required for shop drawings
  • Assist detailers with preparing post-tensioning shop drawings and answering technical questions 
  • Insure speedy and courteous responses to all enquiries and correspondence
  • Handle routine contract administration
  • Manage filing and correspondence of project documents
  • Coordinate deliveries with manufacturing department and provide a timely project scheduling
  • Follow up on project progress with clients and report to upper management on client satisfaction
  • Record variations to the contract and submit timely change orders
  • Attend occasional meetings to discuss post-tensioning matters
  • Visit site to inspect and assist clients with installation, stressing and other post-tensioning activities

Qualification Requirements:

  • Experience in structural engineering, rebar or post-tensioning design and installation is preferred
  • Good Microsoft Excel and Word knowledge
  • AutoCAD proficient
  • 2-year associated college degree in Engineering is required but a 4-year BS Civil or Architectural degree is preferred
  • The ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, subcontractors and clients
  • The ability to take direction and work well with others
  • The ability to visit construction sites and climb ladders
  • The ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
